All I can say is meee-ow, that’s hot. This bag is New York Sharp at its very best. It’s pretty but it’s punk. It’s timeless but trendy. It’s subtle and elegant but it’s undeniably funky as well. You have to notice this bag, there’s no way you can’t. And every time you look, there is something else to focus on, something new to see – yet, it isn’t unfocused or disorganized in the slightest.



There is something chunky and eclectic about the accents and the details. They jump out at you when you’re least expecting it. First it’s the zippers. Then it’s the side buckles on the shoulder straps. After that, it’s the logo. Then the neat, almost industrial tag catches your eye, and you wonder how it manages to be both punk and somehow perfect. You wonder, in fact, how this unexpected Prada purse flawlessly holds the balance between sleek and complex.



At least, that’s what you do if you’re me and salivating like one of Pavlov’s pooches at the sight of this hip, trendy Prada purse. The verdict? Pant, pant, pant!

I absolutely adore those sleek, sophisticated Prada handbags that just scream simple, elegant decadence when you look at them. Out of all the ones I’ve seen recently, the Prada Brushed Leather Frame bag is one of the best.



Again, when it first emerged back in 2005, it went for over a grand – about $1,400.00, to be exact. As you can see, however, despite being three years old, this Prada purse could easily hold its own today with the most top of the line, designer house bags. The Prada designers seriously outdid themselves with this hot little number – in fact, this purse will still be the height of sleek, sophisticated style in 2020, mark my words.



The embellishments and subtle, funky details –such as the wee little key object hanging from the buckle – save this bag from being boring. That could happen – a boxy shape like that is easy to mess up if you go too simplistic. Here, however, it gives the bag a character which goes perfectly with the beautiful logo detailing – sharpened here so you can get the full effect.



All these considered, especially given that you can likely find it for much less these days, this Prada purse is surprisingly affordable. When you consider the way the designs, accents, silhouettes, and silver embellishments gives the Prada Brushed Leather Frame bag such a luxurious, rich appearance, even fourteen hundred dollars seems like chump change.

Since New York Fashion Week just kicked off, it seems like a good idea to take a look at Prada’s spring collection as well, to see how it’s going to match up with the haute couture clothing crossing the catwalk as we speak. Unfortunately, out of all the Prada handbags in the spring collection, the Prada Vitello Daino crossbody satchel is really the only one that comes out a clear winner. The spring line has a lot of black leather, which is always nice, of course – classic, elegant, sophisticated, et cetera. However, what happens if you want to make a splash?

Fashion Week is only a few days old, but it’s still pretty clear that, in the clothing world, the trends are going to continue as they are now, with some sparkling innovations. That means we’re going to be seeing a lot of purples and metallics, a lot of pleats and drapes, and a lot of sequins and sparkles. It’s all about the shiny sheen, in other words, and Prada’s kind of failing miserable. If we girls want our Prada handbags to match our clothing, we’re going to have to rely on the throwbacks from the fall collection.

Or, of course, we can just go for this charming satchel, made of silvery steel calfskin. It’s a beauty for what it is, and my guess is that women are going to be grabbing it up like it’s the last purse they’ll ever buy, once this week is over.

All right, guys – I’ve found true love ten times. I’m starting to think I’m a bit of a tart when it comes to Prada handbags – but you know what? I’m all right with that. I was a tomboy for the first twenty five years of my life, I’m just making up for lost time Besides, when you come across something like the Prada Antik Metallic Dome bag, what else can you do?



Evidently, this purse represents the Prada designers’ decision to be interesting. There’s a story behind this, but sadly, I can’t let you in on it until Monday, or else it’ll fug up my whole routine, and we can’t have that, can we? Now, look. I agree that this bag is spectacular. It is absolutely gorgeous, and metallic colors are a hot ticket this fall. Besides that, they are going to continue being popular well into spring and summer. That leaves winter to think about, but truthfully, this is the perfect bag to give you a little glimmer and shimmer during the bleak, grey days often seen in January and February.



The verdict? This bag is absolutely fabulous. It is fabulous enough to do what it’s suppose to do? Well, you’re just going to have to stay tuned for the big, juicy story in order to find out about that.

Prada’s attempt at that awesomeness fails miserably

I’m afraid the title is a little bit misleading – I simply couldn’t resist the urge to alliterate. However, this is going to be one of those Prada handbags that I really don’t like. In fact, I don’t like anything about the Prada Python Hobo, and it has nothing to do with me not liking animal prints. Snake skin can be the uber cool when it’s done up right, and it would be the height of awesome to carry around any kind of python purse. Unfortunately, Prada’s attempt at that awesomeness fails miserably. It is, in fact, one big ugly bag of fail.


My first beef: the design. If you are going to create a python bag, you have got to make it bang. I don’t care if it’s synthetic snake skin, you have got to make it work, in the words of the almighty Tim Gunn. And this design just does not work. The silhouette is less serpentine than pure Saltine – it’s bland, it’s square, and it’s practically tasteless. It’s a big lump of snake skin, is what it is.


My second beef: yes, okay, it’s the snake skin. But, mind you, it’s just this snake skin, and it’s not even the fabric I mind so much.

Beef number three: what does the logo even say? Oh, sure, it says what every other Prada logo says – but that is default information. You can’t see the thing here. It completely blends in with the background, and that is just sloppy.


I’ll allow that often, I don’t like bags because a particular design, shape, size, color, or feature simply does not appeal to me. I forgive that, even though I may be scathing in my review. However, I do not forgive sloppiness and I don’t intend to start now. I don’t forgive bland, boring, and messed up features. So I do not forgive the Prada Python Hobo, and it can go ahead and get out of my sight now.

Prada gets it. They are completely on board with the fact that, for the last three or four seasons, babies have been the ultimate fashion accessory for a whole lot of starlets. Angelina Jolie is, evidently, trying to have a different baby to carry around every day of the week (to match her shoes, presumably). The rumor mill is saying that Eva Longoria – who, conversely, has enough Prada handbags to easily carry a new one every day for about a month – is with child. New York Fashion Week was full of violets

Okay, someone got carried away with the P’s there, but you guys will just have to forgive me. My brain is not working correctly. I have fallen in love all over again. You know all the tirades I’ve had hermes brand on the subjects of brown, orange, and yellow Prada handbags?
